The First Testing and Demonstration Client For DASH Systems
DecktopIM: Is a testing and demonstration tool for desktop
and mobile computers designed around the new
DASH management interface standard being developed at
the DMTF and is intended for use within the IT vendor community.
DesktopIM is the first testing and demonstration
tool for distributed multi-vendor desktop and mobile computer
system hardware to be built upon this emerging industry standard and is intended to accelerate the development and deployment of DASH solutions..
The internal object model in DesktopIM mirrors the object
model of the specification being built by the DASH Work Group
of the DMTF (to obtain access to the DASH industry standard
please consult the Resources section of this web site). As
a result DesktopIM supports products across the vendor community
with a high degree of interoperability and reliability. DesktopIM
uses the highly scalable xIM architecture as its core and
thus, can be rapidly expanded with new capabilities. Status information, historical
logs, and reports can all be accessed via any web browser.
