ServerIM
ServerIM: Is a monitoring tool
for server hardware being designed around the new CIM based SMASH
management interface standard being developed at the DMTF. ServerIM
is the first configuration and resource monitoring
tool for distributed multi-vendor server hardware being built
upon this emerging industry standard and is intended for use by the IT vendor community in building solutions. The internal object model
in ServerIM mirrors the object model of the specification being
developed by the SMASH Work Group of the DMTF (to obtain access
to the SMASH industry standard please consult the Resources section
of this web site) . As a result ServerIM will efficiently support
products across the vendor community with revolutionary interoperability
and reliability. ServerIM uses the highly scalable xIM architecture
as its core and thus, can be rapidly expanded with new capabilities.
ServerIM is designed to inform you of problems before your clients,
end-users or managers do. The monitoring daemon runs intermittent
checks on services you specify using "plugins" which return
status information. Status information, historical logs, and reports
can all be accessed via any web browser.
