StorageIM
StorageIM: Is an open source monitoring and testing tool
for storage systems and storage networks built around the CIM/SMI-S industry standards and is designed for use as a development aid within the IT vendor community. StorageIM
is the first storage configuration and resource
monitoring tool in the industry to be built with these rapidly emerging
standards as its core (to obtain access to the SMI-S industry standard please
consult the Resources section of this web site). As a result StorageIM
supports HBAs, Arrays, Switches, and tape libraries across vendor’s
products with a high degree of interoperability and reliability.
StorageIM uses the highly scalable xIM architecture as its core
and thus, can be rapidly expanded with new capabilities.
Because the StorageIM design highly leverages the software resources of the opensource community as well as industry standards like SMI-S it is designed to be a nucleus for the evolution of storage management technology for IT consumers and the vendor community.
Summary of features include:
* The object model in StorageIM mirrors the management model of
the profiles in the SNIA SMI-S industry standard for storage management.
* Support for 3PAR, EMC, Engenio, Fujitsu, HDS, IBM, HP, iStor,
Pillar, Data Direct Networks, and Sun arrays.
* Support for Brocade, Cisco, and QLogic switches.
* Support for Emulex and QLogic HBAs.
* Support for HP, IBM, and Quantum tape libraries.
* Support for LINUX hosts via SBLIM infrastructures.
* Runs on both the Linux and Windows operating systems.
Specific capabilities by device include:
